PM10 High Volume Air Sampler with MFC

Model PM10-HV-MFC is a complete PM10 high volume air sampler that uses a mass flow controller (MFC) to hold the sampling flow rate at a constant volumetric value, so the collected PM10 mass stays comparable across changing ambient temperature and pressure. The housing assembly is shipped as an SKD kit that accepts most brand electronic parts, motors and timers.

What Is a PM10 High Volume Air Sampler?

A PM10 high volume air sampler draws ambient air through a size-selective PM10 inlet at a high flow rate, typically around 1.13 m3/min (40 CFM), and collects the particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter of 10 micrometres or less on an 8×10 inch filter. Because the collected mass is large, gravimetric analysis is accurate even in low-concentration environments, which is why PM10 high volume sampling remains the reference method in many national air quality networks.

Why Choose the MFC Version?

Volumetric flow controllers keep the volumetric flow constant, but the mass of air passing through the filter still changes with temperature and pressure. A mass flow controller instead holds the mass flow rate stable, so the total sampled volume stays comparable no matter where or when you sample. For regulatory reporting, long-term trend analysis and inter-station comparison, the MFC configuration removes a systematic source of error.

Assembly and Installation

The sampler is delivered as a metal housing set: PM10 inlet head, base cabinet, filter holder and blower motor housing. The base cabinet stands 1260 mm high and provides the shelter pan; the inlet head locks onto it with a stainless steel handle. Users bolt in their blower motor and MFC control box, connect the wiring, install a filter cartridge and the unit is ready for sampling. No special tooling is required and the whole train can be dismantled into four cartons for transport to remote sites.

Applications

Typical users include environmental protection agencies, ambient air monitoring stations, research institutes, cement and steel plants performing fenceline monitoring, mining operations, and laboratories validating low-cost sensor networks. The PM10 high volume air sampler is equally suitable for dust fallout studies, exposure assessment and compliance sampling against national PM10 limit values.

Packing and Delivery

The housing set travels in export cartons with foam protection and is stackable on pallets. Standard models ship from stock; OEM versions with custom surface finish, silk-screen logo or modified dimensions usually require 10-15 days of production time.

Constant Mass Flow, Comparable Results

The MFC version regulates the sampling flow to a stable mass flow rate even when ambient temperature shifts between seasons or altitude changes between sites. That is what makes PM10 results comparable between different monitoring stations and across long sampling campaigns.

SKD Housing, Local Assembly

The metal housing set is delivered flat-packed. Local integrators simply fit their own blower motor, timer, flow controller and filter media, which keeps freight cost low and supports local-content requirements in many tenders.

Anodized Aluminium Built for Outdoor Use

Every PM10 high volume air sampler housing is produced on our own metal spinning and CNC lines from anodized-grade aluminium alloy, then high-brushed and anodized for UV and corrosion resistance in coastal, desert and industrial environments.

Compatible with Most Brand Electronics

Mounting holes, shelter base pan and filter holder are dimensioned to match the mainstream PM10 high volume sampler platforms, so existing electronics, gaskets and filter cartridges drop straight in.

What is the difference between the MFC and VFC versions?
The MFC (mass flow controller) version holds the mass flow rate constant, so the sampled volume is comparable regardless of temperature and pressure. The VFC (volumetric flow controller) version holds the volumetric flow rate constant at 1.13 m3/min and is the classic configuration used by most national PM10 methods.
No. The standard PM10-HV-MFC is a metal housing set. Users install their own blower motor, timer and flow controller. We can quote a complete unit with motor and control box on request.
Yes. The mounting pattern, shelter base pan and inlet dimensions are designed to match the mainstream PM10 high volume sampler platform, so most brand electronic parts, gaskets and filter cartridges fit directly.
It uses the standard 8 x 10 inch (20.3 x 25.4 cm) glass fibre or quartz filter, supplied 100 pieces per box. We also stock PTFE and pre-weighed options.
Yes. We support OEM and ODM: custom alloy, surface finish, laser-engraved logo, modified cabinet dimensions and bespoke packing are all possible with a 10-15 day lead time.
