PM2.5 High Volume Air Sampler with MFC / VFC
Model PM2.5-HV-MFC. The unit is a PM2.5 high volume air sampler supplied as an aluminum alloy housing set that can be ordered with either an MFC mass flow controller or a VFC Venturi tube at a nominal flow of 1.13 m3/min (40 CFM). Its inlet head is machined with 40 stainless steel nozzles that size-select particles at an aerodynamic diameter of 2.5 micrometres. It is built for environmental agencies, air monitoring integrators and OEM partners running outdoor PM2.5 programmes.

What Is a PM2.5 High Volume Air Sampler?
A PM2.5 high volume air sampler draws ambient air at a nominal 1.13 m3/min (40 CFM) through a size-selective inlet and collects the fine particulate fraction on an 8×10 inch filter. The high flow rate builds a large sample mass even in clean air, so gravimetric weighing and chemical analysis stay reliable over a 24 hour or multi-day run. This model is supplied as a metal housing set for outdoor ambient PM2.5 monitoring.
How the PM2.5 Inlet Selects Particles
The inlet head carries 40 stainless steel nozzles machined to the drawing. Air accelerates through each nozzle and particles with an aerodynamic diameter above 2.5 micrometres are removed by impaction, while the finer fraction continues to the filter. After the filter, the air passes the flow controller and then the blower motor. Because the cut point depends on nozzle geometry and flow, both the MFC and the VFC variant hold the design flow rate accurately.
MFC or VFC: Choosing a Flow Reference
An MFC mass flow controller keeps the mass flow constant, which makes results comparable across altitude and temperature and is preferred for inter-station comparison and long-term trend analysis. A VFC Venturi tube holds the volumetric flow constant at 1.13 m3/min, matching the classic high volume method and requiring no electronics at all. Both options share the same inlet head, shelter base pan and filter holder, so the choice can be made at order stage and changed later.
Assembly, Applications and Packing
Users install their own electronic parts, blower motor, timer and flow controller to complete the sampler. The assembled unit measures 699x699x1600 mm and the head housing measures diameter 698.6 x 561.7 mm, with a sampler head of 23 kgs. Typical users include national air quality networks, research institutes, cement and steel plants and mining operations. The set is produced from aluminum alloy and stainless steel by metal spinning and machining, high brushed and clear anodized, and packed in a carton measuring 80x80x67cm under a three-year warranty.
Two Flow Control Options on One Platform
Buyers can specify the PM2.5 high volume air sampler with either an MFC mass flow controller or a VFC Venturi tube. Both variants share the same inlet head, shelter base pan and filter holder, so a monitoring programme can standardise on one mechanical platform and still choose the flow reference that its national method requires.
Size-Selective PM2.5 Inlet Head
The inlet head carries 40 stainless steel nozzles machined to the drawing. Air accelerates through each nozzle and particles with an aerodynamic diameter above 2.5 micrometres are removed by impaction, so only the fine fraction reaches the filter. Stainless steel keeps the nozzle edges sharp through years of outdoor service and can be cleaned without disturbing the cut point.
Metal Spinning and Machining In-House
Housings are formed on metal spinning machines and finished on CNC centres in our own Foshan workshop, then high brushed and clear anodized. The result is a light, rigid aluminum alloy and stainless steel structure that resists UV, salt spray and industrial atmospheres while keeping the sampler head at 23 kgs, light enough for two people to install on a roof or a tripod.
Fits Mainstream Electronics
The kit is supplied without electronic parts so that integrators can fit their own blower motor, timer, manometer or data logger. Mounting holes, shelter base pan and filter holder dimensions follow the mainstream high volume platform, and the assembled unit measures 699x699x1600 mm, so spare parts and 8×10 inch filters already in stock can be reused.
Factory Support and Three-Year Warranty
T4 AIR SAMPLER has produced air sampling equipment since 2002 and supports OEM and ODM orders, including custom finishes, engraved logos and modified dimensions. Every PM2.5 high volume air sampler carries a three-year warranty and ships in an export carton measuring 80x80x67cm.
