PM10 & PM2.5 Low Volume Inlet with Cyclone
Model PM10-LV-PM2.5-CYC is a complete low volume inlet assembly that combines the PM10 inlet with a PM2.5 cyclone cutter. Because both size fractions are selected during one sampling period, a single site visit collects the PM10 and the PM2.5 sample, and the cyclone provides a sharper cut point than the impactor version of the same assembly. The 3.5 kg assembly mounts on a tripod or directly on the sampler cabinet.

What the Assembly Contains
The PM10-LV-PM2.5-CYC is an inlet assembly rather than a single part. It includes the PM10 low volume inlet head and a PM2.5 cyclone cutter, arranged so that the air passes first through the 10 micrometre stage and then through the 2.5 micrometre stage of the same train. The completed assembly measures 271.5×247.2×571.5 mm and weighs 3.5 kgs.
Because the two stages are part of one mechanical set, the ducting between them is dimensioned by the factory, and the installer does not have to align or seal separate components in the field.
How It Separates PM10 and PM2.5
Ambient air enters the inlet head, where particles larger than 10 micrometres are removed by inertial separation. The remaining air, which contains the PM10 fraction, continues to the cyclone cutter. Inside the cyclone, centrifugal force throws out the particles above 2.5 micrometres, and the elutriated air passes down the train to the filter cassette for gravimetric or chemical analysis. One setup therefore yields two size fractions from the same air.
Mounting and Installation
The assembly is designed for outdoor stations and can be fixed to a tripod or bolted to the sampler cabinet, whichever suits the site. Installation is a mechanical operation: the inlet is positioned, the tubing is connected and the train is checked for leaks. No special tooling is required, and a spare unit can be kept in the workshop so that a station is never out of service.
Access to the internal surfaces is straightforward, so the inlet can be taken off for cleaning without disturbing the lower part of the sampling train. The same assembly can therefore be fitted to a new station or retrofitted to an existing cabinet.
Applications, Packing and Delivery
Typical users include environmental protection agencies, ambient air quality networks, municipalities, research institutes and industrial operators monitoring fenceline dust. Each assembly is packed in a 33x33x30 cm carton with foam protection, ships from stock and carries a three year warranty.
Two Fractions from One Site Visit
Pairing the PM10 inlet with a PM2.5 cyclone means the operator sets up once and collects both fractions in the same session. That removes a second trip to remote or difficult sites and eliminates the timing mismatch that appears whenever PM10 and PM2.5 are sampled on different days.
Better Defined 2.5 Micrometre Cut
The cyclone delivers a steeper collection efficiency curve than an impactor, so the PM2.5 mass on the filter sits closer to the definition used by regulatory methods. Teams already running the impactor version can order this assembly when the protocol calls for the sharper cut.
Complete Assembly, Ready to Mount
Everything from the ambient air intake down to the filter stage is included, so there is no need to source intermediate parts. The assembly measures 271.5×247.2×571.5 mm and weighs 3.5 kgs, and it fits either on a tripod or on the sampler cabinet, depending on how the station is arranged.
Built for Continuous Outdoor Service
The inlet and cyclone are produced from aluminum alloy and clear anodized, which gives stable dimensions and good corrosion resistance in coastal, desert and industrial atmospheres. Routine cleaning can be done at the station with ordinary hand tools, so the assembly rarely has to leave the site.
Factory Supply and OEM Support
T4 AIR SAMPLER has manufactured sampling inlets since 2002 and controls spinning, machining and anodizing in house. Units ship from stock under a three year warranty, and OEM buyers can request modified mounting, private-label packing or kits dimensioned for their own sampler design. Inlet heads and cyclones are also supplied as individual replacement parts, so an existing station can be brought back to specification without ordering a complete assembly.
