TSP Low Volume Air Sampler Inlet

Model TSP-LV is a TSP adapter that replaces the size-selective inlet of a low volume sampler so that total suspended particulate is collected on a 47 mm filter. It is chosen when a program needs the mass concentration of all airborne particles rather than a defined size fraction, for example in dust studies and industrial emission work. The adapter screws onto the inlet tube of the PM10 low volume sampler without modification.

What the TSP Adapter Does

The TSP-LV is an inlet adapter for low volume samplers. Where a PM10 or PM2.5 head selects a size fraction, this adapter simply passes the airborne particulate into the sampling train so that the total suspended particulate is collected on the 47 mm filter. It measures 69 mm in diameter, stands 79 mm high and weighs 0.5 kgs.

The part is intended for programmes that report total particulate mass, such as dust studies around industrial sites, rather than for networks that must report a defined PM fraction.

How It Fits the Sampling Train

The adapter screws onto the inlet tube of the PM10 low volume sampler in place of the size-selective head, so the pump, flow control, filter support and filter paper stay as they are. Because nothing else changes, the same flow setting and the same consumables can be used, and the operator only has to record which inlet was fitted during the run.

When to Choose TSP Instead of PM10 or PM2.5

Choose the TSP adapter when the objective is the mass of all airborne particles at the site, when the fraction sizes are not defined by the applicable method, or when the sampler is being used for a screening survey before a size-selective programme is set up. A station can then be switched to PM10 or PM2.5 operation at any time by refitting the size-selective inlet.

Delivery and Packing

Each adapter is supplied in a carton box and ships from stock under ERP number 98082-000-407 with a three year warranty. Because the unit is small, it is often ordered together with inlet heads, filter supports and 47 mm filter paper so that a station can be equipped in a single shipment.

Keeping a spare adapter on the shelf means a station can move between total suspended particulate and size-selective sampling without waiting for a shipment, while the unused inlet stays protected in its carton.

Total Suspended Particulate in One Step

Some programmes need the mass of everything that is airborne rather than a single size fraction. Fitting the TSP adapter in place of the size-selective inlet converts a low volume sampler into a total suspended particulate sampler, with no change to the pump, the flow control or the filter holder.

Direct Replacement on the Same Inlet Tube

The adapter threads onto the inlet tube exactly where the PM10 head would sit, so switching a station between TSP and PM10 operation takes only a few minutes. No adapter plates, cabinet changes or additional tubing are involved, which keeps spare-part stock simple for multi-site operators.

Small, Light and Easy to Store

With a diameter of 69 mm, an overall height of 79 mm and a weight of 0.5 kgs, the adapter is small enough to keep on the shelf as a spare and light enough to carry to site in the same case as the sampler. Buyers running mixed campaigns can hold one adapter per station.

Anodized Aluminum Construction

The adapter is machined from aluminum alloy and clear anodized, matching the finish of the inlet it replaces. The anodic layer protects the surfaces during repeated outdoor use and cleaning, and keeps the appearance of the sampling train consistent.

Stock Item with Three Year Warranty

TSP adapters ship from stock under ERP number 98082-000-407 and carry a three year warranty. They are produced in the same Foshan factory as our PM10 and PM2.5 inlets, so the fit is consistent from batch to batch, and OEM engraving or private-label cartons are available on request. Keeping one adapter in the spares kit means the capability of a station can be changed without buying a second sampler.

Will the TSP adapter fit my existing low volume sampler?
It is designed to screw onto the inlet tube of the PM10 low volume sampler with no modification. If you use another brand, send us the inlet thread and tube diameter and we will confirm compatibility before shipment.
TSP sampling collects all airborne particulate that reaches the filter, while PM10 sampling uses a size-selective inlet to remove particles larger than 10 micrometres. The TSP adapter simply replaces that inlet.
No. The adapter only changes the inlet, so the train continues to use the same 47 mm filter and support as before. Note the inlet type used on the sampling record so the results can be interpreted correctly.
Yes. Unscrew the TSP adapter and refit the PM10 or PM2.5 inlet. The rest of the sampling train is untouched, so the change takes minutes.
It is packed in a carton box and ships from stock under ERP number 98082-000-407, with a three year warranty. Larger quantities are supplied in export cartons on request.
